How can I slow down my monkey mind?

A question I found myself asking again recently.
Not long ago, I came back to a practice I had learned years before: tapping.
I wasn't trying to stop my thoughts. Instead, I simply let them be. As I gently tapped different points on my body and focused on my breath, something shifted. Within a minute or two, my thoughts became noticeably quieter. It reminded me of sand settling on the ocean floor. The sand is still there, but the water becomes clear again.
For me, tapping isn't about getting rid of my thoughts. It's about giving my nervous system a moment to slow down, allowing my mind to soften naturally.
Since then, it has become one of the practices I return to whenever life feels overwhelming.

If you'd like me to show you exactly how I practise it, feel free to send me a message. I'd be happy to share. 🤍
